Greenfield, IN – August 18, 2025 – Photon Automation, Inc., a leader in advanced manufacturing solutions for over 25 years, proudly announces the formation of Photon Energy, a new affiliated division focused on contract manufacturing and development services for the battery and energy storage industry and other high-tech products.

Photon Energy leverages Photon Automation’s deep expertise in precision manufacturing technologies—including laser welding, robotics, and system integration—to support the evolving needs of the battery and energy storage markets. This new venture reflects the company’s continued commitment to innovation and its strategic expansion into high-growth sectors.

Photon Energy will specialize in:

  • Design for manufacturability consulting
  • Battery system design support
  • Application development for joining cells and busbars
  • Prototype assembly
  • Low- to mid-volume battery module and pack assembly 
  • Experience with Prismatic, Cylindrical and Pouch cell formats
  • Cell, module, and pack performance testing
  • Battery management system (BMS) troubleshooting
  • Developing processes for high-volume production
  • Consulting for regulatory compliance and safety

This initiative aligns with Indiana’s historic role as a hub for battery innovation and energy storage development and takes advantage of partner organizations within this ecosystem.
